Merry Christmas Everyone!!! Sending much love and warm wishes today!! Please have safe travels, great food, and enjoy time with family and friends!!
WE LOVE YOU!
Eric and I are already having such a fun Christmas morning! We did stockings for each other this year and just laughed and enjoyed every second of opening them!!
We celebrated Christmas with my family last night! Great food, opened gifts, and watched It's a Wonderful life! I made a red velvet cake which no one but Eric and I had tried before and everyone LOVED it! It was a hit, which made me fell great!
Today we are heading to the Sorenen's to celebrate Christmas! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Annie and Mike are in from England and Gramie and Grampie will be there as well! It's always fun to see Cali open Christmas presents! Christmas is so special for kids it's fun to see them light up!
Tonight we are going over to my parents again for appetizers and a low key night! My sister and Mike are heading over to a friends house to celebrate this evening so it'll just be the 4 of us! It'll be a nice quiet way to end Christmas!
We have our next doctor's appt on Monday so we are looking forward to that! I have to have some testing done in the next few weeks to see if the baby is developing correctly (no genetic problems) and then we will be told when we will get the prescription to get our ultrasound done at 20 weeks! So we will know within a month what we are having!!!!!!
Here is some info on baby at week 16:
Your Baby
By pregnancy week 16 your baby is more than 4.5 inches long and may weigh almost 3 ounces.
Changes In Your Growing Baby
Your baby is planning on a huge growth spurt in the upcoming weeks. During pregnancy week 16 your baby has grown strong enough to hold his head straighter. Your baby's eyes and ears are moving into their final position and your baby is focusing much of her energy on her circulation system. By 16 weeks pregnant your baby's heart is pumping roughly 25 quarts of blood each day! At 16 weeks pregnant your baby starts growing fine hair on the tope of his head, though some babies will be born very bald despite their best efforts. The color of your baby's hair and even your baby's eyes may change shortly after birth. Many babies are born with blonde hair for example that falls out and turns brown a short time after birth. Still others are born with brown eyes that turn blue within a month or two after birth! Your baby will continue to amaze you in the weeks following pregnancy.
Lots of love,
Eric, Mary and Baby Sorensen

15 weeks pregnant! Sorry it's late!
Sorry this post is so late! We were out of town this weekend and I forgot about it!!
We hit 15 weeks on Friday! We are closing out our 3rd month of pregnancy this week! Christmas day will be 4 months!!
We had a busy week! Eric was busy working, I was busy finishing up everything for Christmas! We had a crazy weekend of traveling! We went to Michigan to celebrate Christmas with both sides of my family! We celebrated at Brian and Jenny's house on Saturday night it was great to spend time with Landon (1 of their 3 boys) and my aunt and uncle as well! We had a wonderful night of great pizza and salad, lots of cookies and great conversation!
On Sunday morning I took Eric through my old neighborhood where I grew up! We went all around saw my old house, my school, my friends houses! We went to my favorite bakery and got one of my old treats called Manakeesh (which is an Arabic flat bread with a special cheese melted in it) it was soo good! I had been craving them all week.
We went to my Auntie Robbie's house on Sunday afternoon! Mom made stuffed shells and A. Robbie made tons of appetizer's we stuffed ourselves talked for hours and opened presents! James' birthday is in January so my mom gave him his gift early it was this adorable chef's costume and cooking set! He was adorable!
Eric loved playing with the boys both days!
Eric drove to and from Michigan which was so nice of him, I got a chance to catch up on some sleep in the car which was much needed after a bad nights sleep in the hotel.
Tonight Eric is taking me to seeing the Chicago Symphony and then out to dinner! Looking forward to a nice night out in the city!

14 weeks! Hello 2nd Trimester!!!
Hello Everyone!!
We have made it to the 2nd trimester and we are so excited for yet another milestone!!
Here is a look at what a baby looks like at 14 weeks in the womb!
http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-images-14-weeks
This week:
I worked hard on getting our Christmas cards out this week! It always takes a long time but I love doing it! I also wrapped all of our christmas presents!! I normally wait until the last minute so it's nice to be done early this year!
We had some VERY cold weather this week and some snow/ice storms. It is officially freezing and it is making me so excited to have a baby in June when it's nice and warm. It would be so hard to cart a baby around in freezing weather like this.
We played A LOT of Super Mario Brothers on Wii this week. We had a lot of fun playing together!
Eric started at his new job downtown this week and is LOVING it! He's never worked downtown before and so he's really excited about it. He'll be working downtown some days, but mostly will be in the south suburbs of Chicago. He really loves his new boss and is enjoying this new opportunity.
We did a lot of cooking this week. We decided to not eat out at all this week which is a big accomplishment for us! We tend to take the easy way out and go out, but we decided to be more domestic and cook a lot this week! It was great, we made a lot of really good stuff and tried some new recipes!
That's about it for this week! We have a birthday party tomorrow night for our good friend Missy, othe than that it's a pretty quiet weekend ahead of us!!
Lots of love,
Eric, Mary, & Baby Sorensen

13 weeks!
We've made it to 13 weeks! 1 week left in the 1st trimester!!!
We had our 3 month check up on Monday! Mama and Baby are both doing perfect!
We got to hear the heartbeat on the Doppler! The Doctor said that it was strong and fast and sounded great! She joked saying it sounded like the baby was on a tiny treadmill!
The only bad news that we got is that we are not going to have our ultrasound for 2 more months (the end of January). We can only get 1 in the 2nd trimester. The good news is that we will know the gender at that time so Baby Sorensen will have a name around January 22nd when we are 20 weeks along!
Some info about baby at 13 weeks:
Your baby can make a fist and even suck his or her thumb this week—both skills that are über-cute during infancy ... and not so much at the age of 9. If you're really lucky, you might catch a glimpse of baby's thumb sucking on an ultrasound photo. That's a framer! Other exciting developments include:
Your baby's eyelids are fused shut to protect his eyes as they develop. His bones and skull are solidifying and soon itsy-bitsy ribs may appear. (Baby ribs! How cute is that?!) Baby's intestines are finally right where you want them—in his or her belly instead of poking out into the umbilical cord. Baby's tooth sockets are all loaded and ready to pop out baby teeth six or seven months after baby is born (causing baby a lot of pain and you a lot of lost sleep).
His vocal cords and larynx are completed now.
Your baby-to-be now weighs about 20 grams and is nearly 3 inches long, or about the size of a Nutter Butter, covered in chocolate. OK, it doesn't have to be covered in chocolate, but isn't everything better that way?
Other things that went on this week:
Eric was offered a new job at another company and he decided to take it! He is so excited about the position. He is going to be working downtown Chicago and in the chicagoland suburbs so it's not as close, but the pay and benefits are better which is nice! He is going to be heading the ergonomics program as well as helping out in clinics in the chicagoland area! We are both so excited about it! We went out for a nice Italian dinner to celebrate on Tuesday night!
I started writing out our Christmas cards! We do almost 50 so it takes a while! They are very pretty this year! I have to admit though be bought them at the end of the season last year at Barnes & Noble for $1 a box! I do that every year as long as I can find cute ones!!
We put up all our outdoor Christmas lights up this week, we decided to get into the spirit and decorate! Here are some pictures:

11 weeks!
I'm a day late on my post! Oops!
We are officially 11 weeks as of yesterday.
A little bit about baby at 11 weeks:
Your baby now weighs a third of an ounce, about the same as two small, Starbucks-sized packets of sugar, is about 2 inches long, the length of one of those sugar packets. Isn't that sweet?
All of your baby's vital organs are now formed and functioning, so the risk of defects decreases this week as your baby becomes less susceptible to outside influences. Phew! Other exciting developments include:
Baby's ears are assuming their proper place this week and the fingernail and toenail beds are beginning to form. Your little "pumpkin head" really lives up to his nickname as his head is nearly as big as the rest of his body.
This was a pretty quiet week! I got the chance to go out to dinner with my two close friends Missy and Jessica to cheesecake factory and had Red Velvet Cake Cheese Cake. It was a layer of cheesecake...layer of red velvet and repeat that again! It was awesome!
We just got back from seeing the "Blind Side" it was an awesome movie, I totally recommend it!
Eric and I have been having a lot of fun playing poker with each other. We went out and got some poker chips and we've been having so much fun just playing, laughing, and joking around!
Other than that, nothing too big going on!!
Lots of love,
Mary, Eric, and "The Bean

10 Weeks!!!
We've made it to 10 weeks!!! 1/4 of the way there!
Everything is going well! I had 1 really bad week with the nausea, but it hasn't really been bad the last few days *KNOCK ON WOOD*. I do, however, have a terrible cold which stinks! I can't take any medicine and I find myself blowing my nose every 5 minutes and now it's all red!
We have finalized our names! Which we are so excited about!! We had been tossing names around for awhile and we finally landed on 2 that we love!!
The big news this week is that Eric got a new job!! He found a job MUCH MUCH closer to home which is amazing because we was driving 1.5 hours each way to work 6 days a week! He is now an Athletic Trainer with a company called Advanced Physicians. The clinic closest to our house is about 5 minutes away which is awesome! He will have to some driving around the area for different sports coverage, but all in all it's just incredible!! With the baby on the way we are just so greatful that Daddy will be closer to home!!
Tonight Eric and I went out to a restaurant called Key Wester to celebrate his new job and my 24th birthday! The food was amazing and it was fun to go on a special date!! We decided to get a 3 appetizer sampler and some crab cakes which were AMAZING and dessert, instead of getting entrees. It was nice to have a small bit of a big variety!
My families friends the Paitchel's are in town and we were able to visit with them this morning and it was great to see them!!
That's pretty much it!!! Hope all is going well with everyone!!!
Lots of Love,
Mary, Eric, & "The Bean"

9 Weeks Pregnant!
So we hit 9 weeks this morning!! We have a whole new reason to look forward to Friday's now! We get so excited everytime we hit a new week!
So whoever came up with the name "morning sickness" is crazy.... It's pretty much a constant feeling of UGHHHHHHHH. Mine seems to be the worst from 10:30-6:30 so a good part of my day!
This week my big craving was for Cheeseburgers.... luckily I only gave in once!
Eric and I went to the Dentist yesterday! It was my first time in WAY too long, but he said that I have beautiful teeth and that everything looked great! He used all this new technology like ultrasonic teeth cleaning, and he did a scan for oral cancer as well, it was the quickest cleaning I have ever done it only lastest 15 maybe 20 minutes! He was really nice and i'm glad to be back on track with going to the dentist.
We had dinner with our good friends Joe and Mary this week, it was great to see them on Wednesday night. We met their new dog Stew and got Pizza and I make Rice Krispie treats and it was nice to just have a quiet night with good friends.
Other than that, it was a pretty quiet week!

Should have knocked on wood...
So... not hours after my last post when I talked about how lucky I was how I hadn't had any nausea yet.... now it's here! And it sucks!
We had our 2nd Doctors appointment this morning. We went over all the blood tests and ultrasound report and the doctor said everything looked wonderful, so we are just thrilled about that!
We made our news public to all of our friends today and we received so many loving messages and words of support. It's been a wonderful day to say the least!
Eric has been the perfect husband. I've been so tired and sick that he has been cooking and taking such amazing care of me! I don't know how I ever got so lucky!
Just wanted to update everyone about the doctors appointment! Everything is GREAT!!
Hope all is well with you all!
Lots of love!

8 Weeks!!
Well we woke up this morning to a crying dog at 5am. Our Wrigley isn't feeling well and has been up sick this morning. She stayed at the PetSmart PetsHotel while we were in Vegas and she always seems to have a couple bad days when she gets back. The vet seems to think it's from the stress of being away from home.
I guess we have to get used to getting up early and waking up to gross things!
We hit 8 weeks yesterday! We are very excited to have 2 months down! I have been more tired than ever, I'm not sure if it is because of the trip or just because i'm getting farther along, but i'm dragging!! Still no morning sickness so keep fingers crossed that I really do take after my Mom is every way and will not have any!!
Vegas was awesome! We had a lot of fun walking around and seeing all the different Casino's. We played a lot of Roulette and had some successful times and some not so successful runs, but we had a lot of fun playing it! We were able to see Phantom while we were there and it was amazing! I saw it when I was much younger in Toronto with my Family, but it was nice to see it as an adult to really appreciate it! We enjoyed some great meals, long walks, shopping, and just relaxing! The weather (that was supposed to be in the high 70's) was in the 50's and super windy, but it was Dry, which is more than I can say for Chicagoland while we were gone!
We have our next doctors appointment on Monday (November 2nd). We will go over the ultrasound and bloodwork that I had done before I left for the trip. This I hear is going to be a bigger visit, so I'm sure I'll have more news after that so I'll update if we're told anything big!!
Lots of love!!

Week 7 Ultrasound!
We had our 1st ultrasound appointment today and it went very well!! If you click on the picture it will blow it up bigger!!
We got to see our little bean and we saw the heartbeat! The due date was confirmed and is still June 11th!! We are thinking of doing a pool for the due date and weight of the baby for some fun!
(Eric is picking his birthday June 15th)
(I am picking June 8th)
I am still feeling great, no morning sickness or anything yet! I have just been very tired lately, but I'm getting used to it!
Cravings have been pretty under control lately, the only thing i've been really "I have to have it" is for Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Which is hilarious!
I go back to the doctor on Monday, November 2nd!
Tomorrow is My and Eric's 1st wedding anniversary and we are leaving for Las Vegas. We will be gone from Sunday-Thursday and we can't wait to just get away!!!!
LOTS OF LOVE to you all! Thank you so much for all your support and love!!

Love,
Mary, Eric, and "The Bean"

6 weeks! It's official!
Hello Everyone:
We had our first prenatal visit today and got the pregnancy confirmed! We are so excited! I go back in 2 weeks for a bigger visit! On Monday I am going in to get bloodwork done and next Saturday, the 24th, we are getting our 1st ultrasound done!!! We are so excited to see our "Bean".
Our due date is June 11, 2010, which is the same week as Eric's!
Everyone is taking bets on whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Mostly everyone thinks it's a girl, with a couple thinking it's a boy.
I had my first wierd craving, didn't eat it though, I'm trying not to give in to cravings because I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. A couple nights ago I wanted curly fries with Ranch dressing....totally sounds gross now, but I wanted it SO badly that night.
Still no morning sickness so I'm really excited about that, although it's still early.
We are going to Vegas on Sunday, October 25th (our 1 year anniversary)! We are so excited to get away, the trip is getting closer and closer.
